CELEBRATING ANTONIO´S BIRTHDAY
On August 4, we celebrate Antonio's birthday, the joy he brought into our lives and the gift of his presence to everyone who knew him. His energy and love was impossible to ignore. Wherever he went, he made friends and formed real connections with people from all walks of life. He was a leader with a contagious smile, a warm presence, and a heart that loved and respected everyone he met.
As an older brother and a goalkeeper, Antonio developed a deep sense that he was here in this world to protect people and create safe spaces for everyone. His compassion for others was remarkable. Even at a young age, he felt others' suffering as his own, and was always looking for ways to help ease their pain. That instinct to guard, to shield, to stand between someone and harm, became the quiet thread that ran through everything he did.
Today, we see so much suffering in our world. As human beings, we have the capacity to feel others' pain, but recent events have also shown us our extraordinary capacity for compassion and action. When earthquakes struck Venezuela, causing devastating loss, the world responded. Communities near and far came together to support families searching for missing loved ones, and that support continues today, reaching every corner of the world to help ease the suffering of thousands of Venezuelan families.
This is what compassion looks like when it moves from feeling into action, and it is exactly the kind of leadership Antonio embodied.
Today, we are grateful for the courage of everyone working to ease the world's pain. To honor Antonio's birthday, we ask you to be that compassionate leader, by extending kindness and care to someone in your own community.
Antonio's Legacy of Ending Hazing Through Compassionate Leadership
Antonio revealed a dark issue that has affected college students for more than a century. The impact of hazing can be devastating and even deadly. Inaction is not an option. Join us in preventing hazing through compassionate leadership.
So many young leaders are eager to change old, dangerous, and outdated traditions, but they often feel isolated, and find themselves unable to say no to unhealthy dynamics. Change requires that someone is willing to take the first step. That someone can be you.

If you want to learn and practice powerful techniques to become a truly impactful leader, the ATLF Ambassador program may be for you! In the year-long program you will attend bi-monthly meetings to explore the CLEARING Model of Compassionate Leadership and put those new skills to work through service to the community. You will also develop the tools to recognize and prevent hazing and bullying in your community.
Leadership skills are like muscles, they get stronger with practice, and the Ambassador Program introduces leadership practices that can last a lifetime.
