HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

Join us in celebrating the ATLF

Ambassador graduates

On June 10, 2025, we celebrated the graduation of our 4th cohort of ATLF ambassadors. We are proud to recognize 25 students who completed the ambassador program! All ambassadors completed a year-long compassionate leadership and hazing awareness training program, preparing them to change the culture on their campuses and in their communities. They participated in thoughtful discussions and practiced their skills through volunteer projects.

Congratulations to all the ATLF Ambassadors for their commitment to making our communities and world a better place!

ATLF Ambassadors earn special recognition

As the country celebrates Independence Day, at ATLF, we take this moment to honor some exceptional students who make our community shine.

We are proud to recognize Garrett Fox as the recipient of the 2025 ATLF Leadership Award. Each year, we award a scholarship to an ambassador who exemplifies the compassion Antonio represented. Garrett demonstrates the principles of compassionate leadership in his school, clubs, and family life.

“High school students could benefit from using collaboration to listen more to one another and respect our differences,” Garrett says. “We all come from unique backgrounds and listening to each other instead of dismissing each other will really improve all aspects of our community.”

Additionally, Ella Barnett, Michael Bittner Mcpherson, and Christopher Tsialas were honored as recipients of the2025 Antonio Tomasello Mentorship Award. All three students expanded the ATLF program at their schools, leading peer seminars and mentoring younger students.

This award celebrates the memory and legacy of Antonio’s grandfather, whose influence shaped Antonio’s vision and compassionate leadership. Recipients reflect his spirit of mentorship and inspiration.

Ella launched the ATLF hazing prevention through compassionate leadership program at The Cushman schools, inspiring many students to lead with compassion and inclusion. Following her lead, Cushman students have already registered to become ambassadors next year.

Michael presented Hazing Prevention for Athletes to ambassadors, student-athletes, parents, and administrators. His personal story and leadership expertise had a tremendous impact! A true ambassador, Michael has extended the reach of ATLF by helping establish programs at Miami Country Day School and Nova University Schools.

Christopher was instrumental in launching the Compassionate Leadership Program at Ransom Everglades Upper School and has presented our hazing prevention through compassionate leadership program at RE as well as local middle schools.

ATLF Ambassadors’ Corner: Quinton Pegg

“Serving as an ATLF ambassador has been one of the most meaningful experiences in my leadership journey. ATLF has provided me with the opportunity to meet peers with similar beliefs and goals. It has also allowed me to step into a leadership role in my school by giving presentations to other students. I have learned so much about the importance of spreading hazing prevention awareness. I have done so by participating in community events that connect individuals around a shared mission. The foundation has helped me grow into a person committed to leading with purpose. I have become a more compassionate leader who truly values the importance of community growth. I cannot wait to begin my 2nd year as an ambassador and hope to continue making a difference.” - Quinton Pegg
